  • To make our boats available to the Law Enforcement Officers in the County, State Game Commission and Civil defense, if requested.

The Highlands Airboat Association was formed in 1987 and has over 100 members.  We do not require anyone to own an airboat to belong to our club as members take part in all our airboat activities.
We have a Bar-B-Q the third Sunday of each month, except December.  The club furnishes the Ribs and members bring covered dishes and desserts to go with them.  There is always good food, fun and airboat rides for anyone that wants to go.
We have a 50/50 and a Land Poker game.  The club receives half the money from each which pays for the ribs.  In December we take $500.00 out of our funds and help a needy organization for Christmas.  We find what they need and purchase it for them.
Our club is registered with the Highlands County Sheriff's Department to help out in emergency situations on the local lakes when needed.  The airboats are always picking up trash from the creeks, rivers and lakes they run.  We have adopted a portion of the highway which we clean twice a year.
We are a family fun filled airboat club, ready to welcome any and all members.  For information, contact:  Pat & Willa Keene at 122 Washington Blvd, Lake Placid, FL  33852-9074.  Day phone 1-863-465-3727
